Take the Risk, Make the Invite

posted in: Write 31 Days | 2

Today, I am taking a break from my Living The Full Life series and participating in Five Minute Friday’s link-up. The prompt this week is Invite.  Five minutes… here I go! Take the risk, Make the invite.

Inviting others into our lives can be holy work. Who do you need to invite?

Ok, so maybe this actually will be part of the Living The Full Life Series after all.  I want to share about taking the risk and inviting others into our lives. Our good, our bad, and our uncleaned bathrooms. I genuinely believe there is a holiness that is at work when we invite others into our lives. We were not created to live in this world alone and isolated. We were meant to do life together.

A few years ago after reading a couple of different books, Jeff and I decided we wanted to start being more intentional in inviting others over to our home and getting to know more people on a deeper level. We have hosted countless people around our table for dinner, and our lives are richer for it.

As you may be aware, we are currently in the process of building our future home, and in the design process, we have been intentional in creating an open and inviting atmosphere. We want our home to be a place of safety and comfort to others. I want to say as they do on Fuller House when the doorbell rings, “It’s Always Open.”

Final Thoughts on Take the Risk, Make the Invite

Who in your life do you need to invite into your life? Is there someone God has been putting on your heart to get to know better? Don’t wait for your life to be perfect, or your house to be cleaned – I promise you, the person who you are inviting does not care.  Take the Risk, Make the Invite.

For write 31 days I will be focusing on how I strive to live the full life. #write31days #livingthefulllife

Love this! I had to get over the messiness to invite people in – otherwise, we’d never have guests! (Though I do use this as an opportunity to clean the bathrooms…. ;))

Great encouragement!! We all have someone (or several) that we need to invite into our lives…and our (as-is) homes! Your neighbor this week at FMF:)
