2016 Books I am Reading

So, as you can see, I already have a pile of books that I want to read this year. And let’s not talk about the number of books waiting to be read in my kindle app. I *might* have a slight addiction to buying kindle books if they are priced at $2.99. Just saying.

I have already started reading Savor by Shauna Niequist. I absolutely love her writing and I would probably say that her book Bread and Wine is in my Top 10 of all books I have read. So if you haven’t read it, I’ll wait while you go order it or request it from your library. Back to Savor… It is a 365 day devotional and it also has various recipes sprinkled throughout. Yum. My life has dramatically changed since discovering Bacon Wrapped Dates which was a recipe in Bread and Wine, so I am hoping that not only will I connect with God, but I will also find a new favorite dish too as I pause every day and Savor.

I have also started Women of the Word by Jen Wilken. My friend Amanda read this book last year and said that it really challenged her in the way she studied the Word. I am looking forward to it challenging me as well.

I can not wait to dig into Fervent by Priscilla Shirer and The Battle Plan for Prayer by Stephen and Alex Kendrick. Last fall Priscilla came to our church on her Fervent tour and it was such an inspiring and uplifting night. A few days before she came I went and saw War Room, and Oh My Word, if you have not seen that movie, you need to. It’s at Redbox. Rent it!

The others in my pile (pictured above) I have had and have not got around to reading yet. I am looking forward to digging into them in the coming months and I plan to share my thoughts about them with you. I don’t think I am going to set a lofty number goal this year like I did last year, but I will say one a month minimum.

What are you reading right now? Have you read any on my list for 2016? Would you tell me about them? Comment below.
