I Love to Laugh!! And I Love to Laugh Loud!! Laughing fills me with joy. This week’s #FridayFive is 5 things that make you LOL! This is my jam! So today’s post is just me sharing with you some of the things that make me Laugh Out Loud! You can see more LOL posts at Mrs. Disciple
If you know me, you know I love to play games. Last year, a friend was telling me about a game she recently played that was hilarious – Telestrations. She said she and her family had such a great time playing it. I looked it up and immediately put in on my Christmas list. My parents bought it for me for Christmas, and we had a lot of fun playing it. I am pretty sure I had tears from laughing at one point. Telestrations is a combination of Pictionary and the telephone game. You draw something but can’t tell the person next to you what you drew. They, in turn, have to look at the picture and make a guess. The next person then has to draw what they guessed. You will laugh. And you will laugh out loud playing this game. I, unfortunately, have only played it that one time, so who wants to come over and play??
I also love a good clean comedian. Two of my favorites are Brian Regan and Tim Hawkins. Check out their tour dates. You will not be disappointed in seeing them. Jeff and I had seen Brian Regan Live when he performed in Ann Arbor a few years ago, but I have not yet been to a Tim Hawkins show. (Hey Jeff, he is performing in Troy on May 6th, want to take me?) If they are not coming near you, you can watch several of their clips on Youtube. One of my favorites for Tim is his Yoga Pants one, and for Brian – there are so many! (Ironing board, Refridgerator, Say 8, Me Monster… the list goes on!) Both of these guys keep it PG too which is nice.
Could this BE any funnier? F.R.I.E.N.D.S. I really don’t think I need to do much explaining here. I love Friends. I watched it when it aired. I watched the reruns. And now that it is on Netflix, we are watching it again. Even though I own all 10 seasons on DVD, there is something about the ease and simplicity of streaming it on Netflix. I admittingly had not watched it in several years. The last time I remember watching it consistently was when I was nursing one of the girls. I would put it in to watch while I was nursing. So, it has been awhile. Jeff and I have enjoyed watching it recently and taking the time to LOL.
I love seeing my kids laugh. It brings me so much joy seeing them laughing and enjoying life. For Christmas, I put a joke book in each of the girls’ stockings (Hayley’s and Alyssa’s). We have had some good laughs going through the jokes. I think it is so important to teach our kids how to have good fun. We also regularly watch America’s Funniest Videos on Sunday nights – all six of us piled on our couch laughing our heads off. I’m not sure there is a better way to end the weekend.
My kids are always doing things to try and make us laugh. Sometimes they make us laugh without even trying. Blake is one that makes me laugh all the time without trying. I don’t know if it is his role as the youngest in the family that defines him as the “Class Clown” (according to Kevin Leman’s The Birth Order Book), but this dude makes me laugh. In this video, we were playing the app game Heads Up. The kids and I love playing it. It is a great thing to do while we are waiting in the car at dance or soccer. This time, however, we were just at home and Blake said he wanted to play. He had played before – he puts the phone on his head, and I give him clues to guess the words. This time, though, he wanted me to put it on my head, and he was going to give me the clues. Blake can’t read. BUT… he knows how the game works and did his own thing… enjoy.
Did you see how frustrated he was that I did not get that? Geez, I wonder where he gets that from. Competitive? The reason he described R2D2 as a girl is because Alyssa dressed as R2D2 for Halloween the previous year when our family theme was Star Wars characters.
Laughing is good for the soul! What are some of the things that make you laugh??
