So here I am, on the first Monday of the month posting my February Goals Update on time!! Yay me!
February overall was a good month with my goals. I love using my Powersheets to track my goals. Having my goals listed all in one place and able to refer to it as often as needed has been so helpful for keeping me on track.
A brief synopsis is Jeff, and I did one date in and one date out in February. His birthday was in February, so we went to Black Rock for dinner and then to a coffee shop.
As for books, I read one physical book, Girl On The Train. I didn’t’ care for it. I had heard it was good and I have enjoyed reading fiction books and then watching the movie. However, the movie was worse than the book. Alas, I’m not going to like everything I choose to read I guess. As for audio books, I finished listening to To Kill A Mockingbird. I remember having to read this book in school and not reading it. I’m not sure I would have been able to get through it if I was actually reading it, but listening to it, it was good. It also made the time go by on the elliptical faster, which is knocking two goals off in one shot! Jeff and I also watched the movie on Netflix when I finished it. Additionally, when we went on a vacation up north, Jeff appeased me and we listened to The Magnolia Story on the drive. This book was superb, and I highly recommend the audio of it. Chip and Joanna Gaines go back and forth sharing their story, and it is both precious and hilarious.
I only did one Random Act Of Kindness in February, and I was hoping to do more; however, I do have a funny story to share. It just happened that Jeff was working from home in the morning on February 17th (National Random Act of Kindness Day) so I ran to the grocery store in the morning. Afterward, I went to Tim Hortons drive-thru to get a coffee, and I was set to buy the coffee for the car behind me. Soon after I pulled in, a car truck pulled in behind me. Great, I thought. Then I saw it was a younger dude. I don’t know what it was, but I became so anxious because I didn’t want him thinking anything. I almost talked myself out of it. What? Anyway, I paid for my coffee, asked to pay for the person behind me and then I jetted. I sped out of that parking lot. Ha!
As for my other goals, I have been doing well and feel as if I am on track to complete my 17 in 17. For my daily goals, I did miss one day with my time with God. It was the Friday we were packing up to leave to come home from our ski trip. Ugh! However, I was more intentional this month with my Saturdays. Progress. The one goal I am still having trouble with is reading aloud to the kids. I don’t know what it is. I love to read, the girls love reading, I am teaching one to read, but for us to stop our day and all sit down with a book together is not happening. In March, I will be trying something different, so we will see how that goes!
Obviously, I need to start writing notes to kids! Also, I didn’t focus too much on losing weight in February but maintaining, and I only gained 1 lb in February, so I am happy with that. And considering the last day of the month was Paczki Day (aka Fat Tuesday) and I had not one, but two Paczkis I am calling that a win!
